When my first baby arrived, I was so excited to have those beautiful newborn photos taken — the ones you see all over Instagram with the tiny poses, the soft wraps and the dreamy light. I booked a session with a photographer who quoted me a price that felt reasonable, and I couldn’t wait.
But when the session was over and the images came back, my heart sank. The price I’d been quoted? That was just to get through the door. If I actually wanted to take any photos home, I’d need to pay significantly more. And even then, they were only tiny, low-resolution files — unless I paid again for the full-size images. What started as an exciting milestone became a stressful, disappointing experience that left a bitter taste.
I later found out this “bait and switch” approach is shockingly common in baby photography. Families are drawn in with a low headline price, only to discover that the real cost is far higher once they’ve fallen in love with the images of their baby. It felt manipulative, and I knew there had to be a better way.
That experience is exactly why I created Wholehearted Photography. I wanted to build something founded on honesty and transparency — a studio where the price you see is the price you pay, where every package includes beautifully edited, full-resolution digital images, and where no family ever walks away feeling let down.
I trained with some of the UK’s leading newborn photographers, investing hundreds of hours into perfecting safe posing techniques and the gentle art of working with brand-new babies. I built my warm, purpose-built studio in Sheffield from the ground up with your baby’s safety and comfort at its heart. Every session is led entirely by your little one — there is never any rushing, and I always allow plenty of time for feeds, cuddles and nappy changes.

The Studio
Wholehearted Photography Studio is a warm, purpose-built newborn photography space tucked away in Sheffield. The studio is kept at a cosy 28°C during every newborn session — the perfect temperature for your baby to feel settled and sleepy, just like being held close.
Inside, you’ll find a peaceful, clean and beautifully curated environment stocked with an extensive collection of hand-selected wraps, blankets, headbands, bonnets, outfits and props. You don’t need to bring a thing — everything is provided, freshly laundered and ready for your session. There’s a comfortable seating area for parents and siblings, complimentary refreshments and all the time in the world for your baby to settle.
Safety and hygiene are paramount. Every prop, surface and fabric is thoroughly cleaned between sessions. The studio is equipped with a changing area, a private feeding space and everything you might need to feel completely at home.

Your baby's safety is the foundation of everything I do. I have invested significantly in my training and continue to develop my skills to ensure every session meets the highest professional standards. Here is what underpins every Wholehearted session:

A little more about me
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m most likely wrangling my own little ones — I’m a proud mum and my children are the reason I fell in love with this work in the first place. Being a parent myself means I truly understand what it feels like to walk into a studio with a tiny baby and all the emotions that come with those early days.
I’m Sheffield born and bred, and I love this city. At weekends you’ll find us exploring the Peak District, discovering new coffee shops in Kelham Island or chasing the kids around Endcliffe Park. Sheffield’s strong community spirit is one of the things that makes running a small business here so special — many of my families come back year after year, and I genuinely treasure those relationships.
I believe that the best photographs come from genuine connection. That is why I take the time to get to know every family before their session, so that when the day arrives, it feels more like visiting a friend than a formal appointment.
